I think Cisco is best read like Burroughs - vividly imagining scene after scene until the imagination fatigues and one needs a cold shower to lessen the hang over. Animal Money is too unrelenting and delirious to try and keep tabs on everything.
Unlike yourself, I would never try and review a novel by Michael Cisco hahaha, actually I began taking notes on characters/plot/concepts etc, and quickly realised there wasn't much point. I've also put Animal Money down for a few days to read The Temple of the Golden Pavilion by Yukio Mishima. We may or may not have begun at exactly the same time, I'm on page 430.
